About Inalda

Hello, welcome and thank you for visiting my website. I would like to share a little bit about myself. I am the eldest and the only girl in a family of four children.  At a very young age I realized that I had to learn to take care of myself.  When I was younger, I was subjected to verbal abuse by an African teacher who disliked people of color. I can remember a time when I was growing up in Eswatini, which was colonialized by the British and had racial segregation; people of color could not frequent clubs as these were reserved for Europeans only.

I was sent to South Africa to study where I had to “grow up” overnight.  Being separated from my family taught me survival skills.  I quickly learned to fend for myself in whatever circumstance I encountered.  I trained as a legal secretary during a time when only Europeans were considered capable.  I worked for UNICEF in Mozambique as a simultaneous translator to the Resident Representative for Africa. I became the first woman Deputy Sheriff in Eswatini, and was the first to open a secretarial school for people of color. This was an incredible time in my life where I trained over six hundred secretaries. I was the first person of color to transcribe for The High and Supreme Courts in Eswatini. I also travelled Africa translating for the UN, SADC and African Union.

I have always believed that as long as one could read and write, and had a desire to improve oneself, then there is nothing one could not achieve.  I went on to become a motivational speaker and columnist which has given me the opportunity to travel as a guest speaker all over Africa sharing my beliefs and practices. I use my own experiences to encourage others to strive for high ideals.  During this Covid-19 period I have been a regular participant on numerous Zoom Meetings on Peace.

My intention for this website is to connect with people arou nd the world, share my thoughts and offer encouragement where I can. I truly believe that if you change your thoughts, you can change your life. I look forward to hearing from you, so feel free to share your comments or get in touch with my via my contact page.

Love always, kisses, hugs
